As a follow on to IBM Channel Communication CC0810-227; Penalties for Code of Conduct Violations, dated October 24, 2008, this announcement (CC0810-233) provides Business Partners with suggested verbiage to be used with end-users regarding pricing, Opportunity Development Pricing (ODP), certification and registration processes. The folllowing questions/topics are addressed:

1. What can a customer be told about IBM's pricing process?

2. How to explain to a customer the need for a Business Partner to withdraw pricing because of a special bid certification review or an Opportunity Development Pricing review.

3. How to explain the IBM System i, IBM System p, IBM System z, Point of Sale (POS) and IBM System Storage Certification Program to a customer.

4. How to explain the IBM System x Deal Registration Program to a customer.

Jan 12: 1H 2009 IBM ISS Technical Solutions Specialist Training and Managed Security Specialist Training
IBM Partners approved to sell IBM ISS solutions must meet training authorization requirements. There are two courses available today: Technical Solutions Specialist Training and Managed Security Specialist Training.

TSST Overview
A five-day, hands-on, technical sales course, designed to provide the necessary education to manage IBM Proventia security appliances. Available only to Partners approved to sell the IBM ISS products and services.

MSST Overview
A 2-day product, services and technology course. Prerequisite skills include information technology, networking, and information security. Partners are required to have completed an IBM ISS overview on product and services or attended and completed the TSST course.

Who should attend?
The TSST course targets technical sales and support staff such as Systems Engineers, Security Consultants, and Technical Support Analysts. Prerequisite skills include networking, security, or both.

The MSST course is targeted towards Technical Consultants, System Engineers, Security Product Development and Marketing, Security Sales, Security Consultants, and Technical Analysts.
